Some FEATURED ARTISTS on this week’s Stronger Than Dirt (Saturday,
January 15, 8-10pm) include the Who, Hello, Blondie, XTC, Skids, Fall of Saigon,
Shonen Knife, Primal Scream, the Go! Team, Tom Vek, lots of new music, as
well as the weekly Dusty Diamond.

PICTURE SLEEVE OF THE WEEK: The Hierophants are an alt wave/post punk
band from Geelong, Australia with several releases between 2012 and 2019.
Their debut album, “Parallax Error,” was releasd in 2015 in Australia on Aarght!
Records, and in the United States on Goner Records. It featured the artwork of
bandmember Paris Richens, who also did the artwork for their second LP,
“Spitting Out Moonlight.” The Goner release (this copy) was a limited edition with
gold vinyl. Click on image to enlarge.

LAST WEEK’S DUSTY DIAMOND (a forgotten gem from the STD vaults): The
FuckEmo’s are self-described “mind-melting psych-punk genius weirdos” from
Austin. They were mostly active in the mid and late 90s, though they released an
album in 2017, and presently maintain a Bandcamp page. “Conspiracy” is a
chuckle-inducing (I think it’s funny at any rate) slab of grunge punk about the JFK
assassination and ensuing conspiracy theories. A radio broadcast announcing
Kennedy’s death begins the song, and live reporting of Oswald’s shooting brings
it home. It came out in 1995 on clear silkscreened single-sided vinyl on No Lie.
