Die Spitz
Die Spitz is a punk band from Austin, TX composed of members Chloe (drums), Ellie (lead vocals), Ava (bass), and Kate (guitar). Although the band has been around for less than two years, they’ve already found immense success in the Austin music scene. They secured a spot at ACL and collaborated with Try Hard Coffee, who released a limited edition vinyl pressing of their album Teeth along with a special blend of coffee.

I was fortunate enough to catch their set on Saturday and later sat down with them for a chat about their journey thus far and what’s on the horizon for the band. Check out the interview below!

Shooks
The members of Shooks may not have been together for an extended period, but they are no strangers to the Austin music community. Marlon, Deven, Hunter, Matt, and Colton came together through various circumstances to form what could be considered an indie rock supergroup, although their sound defies easy categorization. Having released their debut EP in 2021, they have graced the stages of ACL twice, performed at SXSW, and even played at the legendary Continental Club. Their eagerly anticipated full-length debut album is set to be released soon.

Grace Sorensen
Georgetown native Grace Sorensen, a 20-year-old sensation, has been the talk of the town for quite some time. She even landed the coveted ACL Weekend One preview cover of the Austin Chronicle! While 2023 marks her first solo appearance at ACL, she made her festival debut in 2021 as a backing singer for Shiela. Moreover, she had the remarkable opportunity to open for the legendary Diana Ross at Germania Amphitheater last year. I had the pleasure of catching up with her on a Saturday afternoon to discuss her upcoming performance, her background as a dancer, and what the future holds for this emerging R&B icon.

Ben Kweller
Ben Kweller, originally from Greenville, TX and currently residing in Dripping Springs, has been sharing his music since the age of 13. Now at 42, he’s marking his 5th(?) appearance at ACL and has recently toured with Ed Sheeran. Unfortunately, he’s also been coping with the tragic loss of his son, Dorian, who passed away in a car accident earlier this year, shortly before his SXSW debut.

We had the opportunity to catch up with him after his Saturday afternoon set, discussing topics ranging from his grandmother to the changes he’s witnessed since his first ACL performance and more.

Jane Leo
Austin pop-noir duo Jane Leo had an electric set on Sunday, October 8 at the Tito’s tent where they slayed the faces off the crowd and made an exciting announcement! Fresh from the success of their latest single, “Wow,” released in August, the duo recently concluded a tour with Cannons and has big plans for the future. Check out my interview with them below!
