The Singer and the Song features my 2021 interview with David Clayton-Thomas of Blood, Sweat, and Tears. We lost David this week at age 84, and several years ago, I got to interview this legend of rock and roll, the powerful lead singer of BS&T who also happened to have written Spinning Wheel and so many other great songs. You’ve heard his distinctive voice for decades in so many great songs. Here he is in 1969 in a snakeskin suit accepting the Grammy for Album of the Year as presented by Louis Armstrong and beating out The Beatles’ Abbey Road. Like you do. He was a great artist in every way, as you’ll hear in my fascinating in-depth interview with him along with tracks from Blood, Sweat, and Tears and tracks from his solo career for the whole hour on KOOP 91.7 FM and koop.org, 3-4pm, Saturday, June 27th. By the way, you have until Saturday afternoon to listen to last two episodes (Whalen Nash with Shawnee Kilgore, Trish Wesevich with Steve Carter) at The Singer and the Song – KOOP Radio 91.7 FM
