COVER ART OF THE WEEK: The Psycotic Pineapple are a Bay area new wave and power pop band that have produced some fun, at times humorously off-beat music. Active mainly in the late 70s and 80s, they are still playing out and released a digital album last year. Their first two singles as well as this, the “Where’s the Party?” album featured the artwork of bass player John Seabury. It was released in 1980 on Richmond Records. (Click on image to enlarge.)

DUSTY DIAMOND OF THE WEEK (a vintage gem from the STD vaults): Helen Love is a Welsh band that combine elements of punk, bubblegum and even disco. Formed in 1992 by singer Helen Love, they have released numerous albums and singles, including an EP as recently as 2023. “Summer Pop Radio” is a breezy slice of effervescent synth bubble pop that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and a bounce in your step. It appeared on the 1994 “Summer Pop Punk Pop” 10” mini LP on Damaged Goods record. Listen to it here:
