Some FEATURED ARTISTS on this week’s Stronger Than Dirt (Saturday, September 16, 8-10pm) include the Clash, Stranglers, Wire, Judy’s, Go-Go’s, Family Fodder, Prisoners, Les Sexareenos, Wax Idols, lots of new music as well as the weekly Dusty Diamond. Host Scott Gardner will also be offering a special Devo inspired t-shirt (see image) as a thank-you gift for listeners who pledge during the show.
COVER ART OF THE WEEK: Despite its name, “The Stranglers IV” (AKA Rattus Norwegicus), was actually The Stranglers’ debut studio album. Released in April 1977 on United Artists it was one of the highest-selling albums of the British punk era. The cover art featured photographs of the band by Trevor Rogers and art direction by Paul Henry. It came with an inner picture sleeve and the first 10,000 copies included a bonus single.
