Some FEATURED ARTISTS on this week’s Stronger Than Dirt (Saturday, July 29, 8-10pm) include Wimple Winch, Jet, Sparks, Edith Nylon, Voice of the Puppets, 100 Flowers, Martha and the Muffins, Celibate Rifles, Wildbunch, lots of new music as well as the weekly Dusty Diamond.

COVER ART OF THE WEEK: Candygirl was a short-lived project of Minneapolis musician and producer Travis Ramin. The music, written and performed by Ramin, was fun Nikki Corvette inspired pop punk, and featured vocals by the eponymous Candygirl. Their second and final release, the “Beehive” EP, featured a cover design by Justin Staggs and photos by Wilson Webb. It appeared in 2000 on Lipstick Records. Click on image to enlarge.

DUSTY DIAMOND OF THE WEEK (a forgotten gem from the STD vaults): The Briefs, a punk band from Seattle, were formed in 1999 and were active in the early and mid 00’s. Since then, they have regrouped on occasion to perform live, most recently in support of The Dead Boys in late 2022. “Where Did He Go?” is straight ahead melodic party punk with minimal chord structure and maximal audience participation potential. It appeared in 2000 on their first full-length album “Hit After Hit” on Dirtnap Records. Listen to it here:
