Hosted by Kim Simpson, the International Folk Bazaar is your weekly excursion into all manner of global roots music, featuring records and the occasional live guest. The show has been running on KOOP since 2008 (with a hiatus between 2014-2016). Submissions are always welcome.
Kim Simpson is a musician-writer-DJ based in Austin, Texas. He is the author of Early ’70s Radio (Bloomsbury), runs the “Song ID Blog,” has spun records for both KOOP and KUTX in Austin, and records his own music as a songwriter and guitarist available at kimsimpson.us. He has taught courses in music and culture at the University of Texas and Texas State University and has appeared as a commentator on documentaries such as “I Can Go For That: The Smooth World of Yacht Rock” (BBC) and “Music’s Greatest Mysteries” (AXS TV).
