Free Samples explores the art-form of sampling by showcasing deep-cut original sample material, and celebrating the tracks that flipped them.
Expect to hear funk, soul, jazz, rock, hip-hop, dance, pop and probably everything else! Buyer beware: DJ Lippy tends to sing and freestyle live over the songs and samples he plays (people seem to like this). Let’s have some fun with it!
DJ Lippy has been getting stupid on the radio airwaves since starting as a lil’ spit-fire in the early 1990s in New Jersey. He honed his skills at WVUD in Delaware, brought the sauce at WRUV in Vermont, DJ’d at clubs, bars, house parties and stages all over NYC from 2000-2012 (much of the time as part of the unstoppable Bus Stop wrecking crew), and now brings the heat on KOOP in Austin with his show, Free Samples.
