After 8 years on the air, T.J. Masters is packing up his Small Cool World and taking it home. From T.J. — “From the beginning, KOOP’s Programming Committee trusted me with a 90-minute slot on the FM schedule. Since 2017, Thursday afternoons have been such an important, edifying, and creative part of my life. I have an indescribable amount of gratitude for KOOP’s listeners and for our volunteer community for accepting, trusting, and encouraging me. But I’m also a huge believer in KOOP’s mission as a community resource, and I think that it’s time someone else deserves to be the beneficiary of such a creative, open (and regular) space. Be in touch if you need to be.”
Small Cool World will finish out the KOOP season and retire from the airwaves at the end of this May. You can also catch T.J. live next month at KOOP’s community garden residency (April 3).
T.J. plans to remain active at KOOP in his role as Chief Operator of the station and believes that the only appropriate social media behavior is exodus—write to him at tj@koop.org instead and follow his past, present, and future projects at gumaverse.com.
Small Cool World is a genre-fluid music and human interest show. Found sounds, calls, and good tunes unite. T.J. Masters is a writer, musician, and community radio host living in Austin, TX.
