Some FEATURED ARTISTS on this week’s Stronger Than Dirt (Saturday, March 28, 8-10pm) include the Move, Generation X, Barracudas, Ideal, Lester Bangs and the Delinquents, Malaria1 (RIP Bettina Köster), the Fall, Pipettes, Blasted Canyons, lots of new music as well as the weekly Dusty Diamond.
COVER ART OF THE WEEK: Hubert Kah was a German synth pop trio led by vocalist and keyboardist Hubert Kemmler. They emerged during the height of the German New wave (Neue Deutsche Welle) era of the early 80s and had several hit songs in Germany. Their first hit song, “Rosemarie”, appeared in 1982 as a single and on their first album, “Meine Höhepunkte,” both on Polydor. The single and album shared the same cover art, a design by Claus Zundel and Theo Werdin. (Click on image to enlarge)

DUSTY DIAMOND OF THE WEEK (a vintage gem from the STD vaults): The Kaisers are a long-time garage beat band from Edinburgh, Scotland. Formed in 1992 they have been through several line-up changes but are still playing with two of the original members and released an album in 2024. Recorded at Toe Rag Studios in London, “Kaiser Stomp” is a catchy, uber rambunctious dancefloor stomper that channels Cavern Club era rock and roll. It appeared in 1994 on their second album “In Step with the Kaisers” on the No Hit label. Listen to it here:
