The old KNOW Radio building on North Lamar just north of MLK Blvd was torn down a few months ago. That was the site of a lot of great radio on Austin. KNOW AM was the Top 40 station in town for years, but then it became a soul station, “The Rhythm of Austin,” in the late seventies and early eighties. While filling in on Sunday (11/24) on Pure Energy and Joystick Jukebox on KOOP, Rush Evans will celebrate KNOW The Rhythm of Austin for two hours. It will be a fun journey through seventies and eighties soul, which Rush remembers well, because he worked at KNOW in those days.
