Some FEATURED ARTISTS on this week’s Stronger Than Dirt (Saturday, November 15, 8-10pm) include the Monks, Bruce Woolley and the Camera Club, Shivvers, Young Marble Giants, Meat Puppets, Stems, Thee Mighty Caesars, Puffy AmiYumi, Kid Congo and the Pink Monkey Birds, lots of new music as well as the weekly Dusty Diamond.
COVER ART OF THE WEEK: Positive Noise were a Scottish new wave and synth pop band that were active in the early and mis 80s, releasing three albums and numerous singles. “Positive Negative,” their very first single, featured an uncredited bit of classic new wave artwork. It was released in 1981 on the Statik label. (Click on image to enlarge.)

DUSTY DIAMOND OF THE WEEK (a vintage gem from the STD vaults): Jeffie Genetic and His Clones were a short-lived neo synth pop band from Vancouver, British Columbia fronted by guitarist/vocalist Jeffrey McCloy (New Town Animals, Tranzmitors). “Oh No I’ve Been Cloned” is a catchy synth wave popping throwback to the early 80s. It appeared in 2003 on their only release, the “Need a Wave” CD album on Dirtnap Records (reissued on vinyl in 2007 on Lady Kinky Karrot Records). Listen to it here:
