You are invited to MONKEYWRENCH BOOKSTORE on Friday night July 18th 2025 at 8:30pm to one of a series of credibly documented PowerPoint presentation-dialogues on Racial Justice Issues of Historical Significance. The event is sponsored by MONKEYWRENCH Books and KOOP Radio’s Community Council Subcommittee on Systemic Racism & Racial Justice in partnership with The PGI on Addiction, Health & Social Theory, a KOOP non-profit Community Organization member.
The presentation dialogue is titled, What Country did Nelson Mandela believe was Decisive in the Overthrow of Apartheid South Africa & for Addressing unmet Humanitarian Needs of the South African people?
This presentation is one in a series of historically significant connected thematic concerns that we feel are hidden from the US public because of the contradictions they raise. We seek to bring them into our universe of discourse in order to connect their important revolutionary components and the lessons they can provide in seeking to realize our goal of promoting black studies, deconstructing oppression and dismantling racism, not just recognizing it.
We address the historical forces for and against apartheid South Africa. Our primary foci are on the first defeat of the South African military at Cuito Cuanavale, Angola, the decisive factors that led to that defeat and the backdrop of the US led west unsuccessfully seeking to enlist Nelson Mandela to discredit the government and politics of Cuba and its leader Fidel Castro. The credibility of the presentation is augmented by the poignant analysis of Nelson Mandela that is also shared.
