The Singer and the Song celebrates the music and memory of Jimmy LaFave. Beloved Austin musician should have turned 70 this weekend, but the musical legacy he left behind is alive and well, and it will be celebrated this Saturday night at 04 Center. And before that, we’ll make an hour of radio in celebration of Jimmy. Ashley Warren was Jimmy’s partner who continues to archive and release his body of work through the Jimmy LaFave Intellectual Property Trust, so she’ll join us to share memories, as will participating musicians Chris Hawkes, Ben Jones, and John Inmon. We’ll have stories, live performances, and a recording or two of Jimmy himself.
