Some FEATURED ARTISTS on this week’s Stronger Than Dirt (Saturday, June 7, 8-10pm) include the Beau Brummels, Judy Carne, The Quick, 20/20, Magazine, X, Miracle Workers, Lost Sounds, Schla La Las, Hierophants, lots of new music as well as the weekly Dusty Diamond.

COVER ART OF THE WEEK: Lost Sounds were a Memphis based band that included Jay Lindsey and Alicja Trout. Formed in 1999 toward the end of the 90s garage era, they merged analog synth wave with punk energy. They disbanded in 2005 after releasing numerous albums and singles. Their sophomore album, the double LP “Black Wave,” was released in 2001 on Empty Records in various editions of colored vinyl. It featured cover art by the band and included an insert with lyrics.

DUSTY DIAMOND OF THE WEEK (a vintage gem from the STD vaults): The Shindigs were a fun, edgy garage pop band from Austin and were fronted by guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Melissa Bryan. They were active in the mid to late 90s and released a single and a full-length album. “Walk with Me” is a bouncy, catchy fuzz rocker with some sweet guitar. It appeared in 1999 on the self-titled album on the Rock-Haüs label. Listen to it here:
