Some FEATURED ARTISTS on this week’s Stronger Than Dirt (Saturday, May 3, 8-10pm) include the Atlantics, Giorgio, Equals, Fast Cars, Polyrock, Clean, Chris & Cosey, Mudhoney, Moles, and Von Viva, lots of new music as well as the weekly Dusty Diamond.
COVER ART OF THE WEEK: After the break-up of the seminal industrial band Throbbing Gristle in 1981, members Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti continued to perform together as Chris & Cosey. They released several post-industrial and synth albums in the 80s and 90s. Their fourth full-length album, Technø Primitiv, was released in 1985 on the Rough Trade and Megadisc labels. It featured a design by CTI (Chris & Cosey) and English musician and graphic designer Kevin Thorne.

DUSTY DIAMOND OF THE WEEK (a vintage gem from the STD vaults): Thee Cybermen were a British garage band named after The Prisoners’ “Revenge of the Cybermen” song. Formed in the late 80s they released two albums and three singles in the mid 90s and then a CD single in 2007. “You Say (I Want You)” is a rowdy, swinging garage rocker that wears its Prisoners influence on its sleeve. Produced by Thee Headcoats’ Bruce Brand it appeared in 1995 on the “Peabrain” EP on Cave Records. Listen to it here:
