Some FEATURED ARTISTS on this week’s Stronger Than Dirt (Saturday, March 22, 8-10pm) include Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich, Damned (RIP Brian James), Soft Boys, Vibrators, Nervus Rex (RIP Shawn Brighton), Waitresses, Stretford, Opération S, lots of new music as well as the weekly Dusty Diamond.

COVER ART OF THE WEEK: The Vibrators were one of the early British punk bands to emerge in the first wave of 1976 and 1977. They were active up until 2022 when they released their last studio album. “Automatic Lover” appeared on their second album, V2, released in 1978 on Epic Records. It was the only song from the album to be released as a single, also on Epic, and the only single by the band ever to crack the UK Top 40. The cover art is uncredited.

DUSTY DIAMOND OF THE WEEK (a vintage gem from the STD vaults): Head, a Ramones-y punk band from Seattle, were active from the early 90s up until around 2018 and released several albums and singles. “The Hate Van” is a chuckle inducing slab of three chord loser punk. It appeared in 1994 on the “Street Level Assault” album on the Evil Clown label. Listen to it here:
