Some FEATURED ARTISTS on this week’s Stronger Than Dirt (Saturday, May 11, 8-10pm) include Thor’s Hammer, Manfred Mann, Twinkle Ripley, Dickies, ‘B’ Girls, Hubert Kah, Rondelles, Shitbirds, Chicks on Speed, Fungi Girls, lots of new music as well as the weekly Dusty Diamond.

COVER ART OF THE WEEK: Frustration are a post-punk band from Paris that formed in 2002 and are still active. They have released several singles and albums including one this year. For each of their six full-length albums they have employed French artist and musician Baldo (real name José-Louis Baldomero Ortas) to create their dark, often dystopian covers. The front and back covers of “So Cold Streams,” their fifth album, captures that unromanticized style perfectly. It was released in 2019 on Born Bad Records. You can view more of his artwork here: http://baldomero.online.fr/ (Click on image to enlarge)

DUSTY DIAMOND OF THE WEEK (a vintage gem from the STD vaults): Bum were a pop punk band from Victoria, British Columbia. They formed in 1991 and were active through the 90s, releasing several albums and singles. “Why Go out of Your Way” is classic Bum, an infectious dance/mosh inducing pop punker with crunchy guitar chords and nice vocal harmonies. It appeared in 1994 on a split single with Fifi and the Mach III on 1 + 2 Records. Listen to it here:
