Some FEATURED ARTISTS on this week’s Stronger Than Dirt (Saturday, March 30, 8-10pm) include the 13th Floor Elevators, Killing Joke, Ideal, Narrow Adventure, Sting-Rays, Cosmic Psychos, Supersnazz, Anna Oxygen, lots of new music as well as the weekly Dusty Diamond.

COVER ART OF THE WEEK: The Cosmic Psychos are a longtime Australian rock band that have been around since the mid 80s, though bassist and vocalist Ross Knight is the only original member left. Their sixth studio album, “Self Totalled,” featured digital imaging and photography by Dominic O’Brien and layout by Jason Griffiths. The pre AI digitally altered photo of the band on the front cover makes them look years older and plays off their reputation as a hard drinking band. It appeared in 1995 on Amphetamine Reptile Records. (Click on image to enlarge)

DUSTY DIAMOND OF THE WEEK (a vintage gem from the STD vaults): The The Jewws were a garage rock and roll trio from Houston that were active from the late 90s and early 00s. Two of the members now live in Austin, Omari (DJ regular at the 13th Floor) and Rebecca (Total Diamonds) while the third, Matt (UK Gold), lives in Olympia WA. “The Space City Beat!” is a smoking Houston proud three chord party rocker. It appeared in 2002 on the “L’explosion Du Son De Maintenant!” album on Demolition Derby Records. Listen to it here:
