Some FEATURED ARTISTS on this week’s Stronger Than Dirt (Saturday, February 3, 8-10pm) include the Flies, Tomorrow, Hello, Nerves, Mick Farren and the Deviants, Gang of Four, Walkingseeds, Moles, Tweezers, lots of new music as well as the weekly Dusty Diamond.

COVER ART OF THE WEEK: Mick Farren, English journalist, writer, musician, singer, was best known as the leader of the Deviants, a proto-punk band of the late 60s. After a hiatus from music in the 70s, he revived the band and released the “Screwed Up” EP in 1977 on Stiff Records. The cover design and photo are uncredited. (Click on image to enlarge)

DUSTY DIAMOND OF THE WEEK (a vintage gem from the STD vaults): The Drags were a garage punk rock band from Albuquerque NM. They were active in the mid to late 90s and released three full-length albums and several singles. “Well Worth Talking About” is a high energy, verging on frenetic garage romp with nice vocal interplay between guitarist C.J. and bassist Lorca. It appeared in 1995 on a single on the Rat City label. Listen to it here:
