Some FEATURED ARTISTS on this week’s Stronger Than Dirt (Saturday, August 19, 8-10pm) include the Easybeats, Outsiders, Pantherman, Chris Spedding, Suzi Quatro, Yachts, Skids, Korgis, Servotron, La Femme, lots of new music as well as the weekly Dusty Diamond.

COVER ART OF THE WEEK: Peter D. Kelly was a British rock musician and producer from the 70s. He released one full length album and several singles between the years 1972 and 1975. His 1974 “Rock to the Juke Box” on DJM Records is a classic 70s junkshop glam rocker. The cover of the French edition featured an illustration by artist and photographer Philippe Morillon. DUSTY DIAMOND OF THE WEEK (a forgotten gem from the STD vaults): The Spoilers were a short-lived garage rock instrumental band from Austin. They had but one release, a Tim Kerr produced single released in 1993 on Over and Out Records. It was during the recording that bassist Robbie Becklund and drummer Stefanie Paige Friedman became friends with Kerr, and soon thereafter joined him in the Lord High Fixers. “Mudslide” is a Link Wray inspired burner with driving rhythm and choice guitar licks by Jamie Panzer.
