Honoring MLK by Studying his Words & Examining the ‘Edifice’ that he claimed needs Restructuring: A Spiritual & Material Critique with Reverend Jim Rigby
Tonight at 6 PM on Bringing Light Into Darkness:
Dr King converged the spiritual critique with the economic and foreign policy missteps that is driving our world towards a premature and perhaps irreversible crisis of survival of our species. He called out our arrogance as a nation and violent foreign policy within the paradigm of racism and gross economic inequalities. Special guest Reverend Jim Rigby Pastor of St Andrew’ Presbyterian joins Pedro Gatos and leads a far-ranging discussion that highlights MLK words from his Beyond Vietnam 4/4/1967 speech and applies them to the deteriorating spiritual and material conditions more and more of our human species are being subject to. Many answers lie in the legacy of Dr MLK lessons he left behind many of which were most well developed and expressed in the Beyond Vietnam speech. You cannot celebrate the true calling and legacy of MLK, we believe without staying focused on his greatest concerns…. Enjoy!
