Borders are places where distinct cultures meet and converge and give space to something new. Spanglish, Tex-Mex, Latin Rock; each are examples of what can be created when people from different backgrounds come together. The title of our show, “Fronteriza”, means “of the border”. Our hope is to capture that borderland spirit by embracing the differences in our histories, upbringings, and cultures, in order to bring new perspectives to the Austin community.

Fronteriza transmits in a bilingual format: our programs flow naturally between English and Spanish in the hopes that those who prefer English might pick up some new Spanish, and vice versa. Our programs tend to focus on long-form interviews with experts, activists, and artists, with a special focus on issues of importance to the Latino community.
