Get a steady dose of music from Latin America and beyond. On any given night, you might hear a mix of cumbia, tropicales, salsa, son, pop, hip hop, folk, rock, electronica, and more for your listening and dancing pleasure. Most of the songs are in Spanish.

Although Kanya Lyons hails from Texas, she’s traveled throughout her life and lived in Mexico, Hawaii, and Spain. Inevitably, something boomerangs her back home to Austin where she’s lived on and off since the 80’s. Kanya began volunteering at KOOP in 2016 as host of Volumes: the Austin Public Library Radio Show (RIP) that aired until 2018. After returning from Barcelona in 2020, she began hosting the KOOP program Reflections of Community Outreach on the third Monday of each month at 1:30 pm. Kanya became a member of the KOOP Programming Committee in November 2020.
