COVID-19 Vaccination Info.: Individuals wishing to get the COVID-19 vaccine who are in Phase 1A (frontline workers and long-term care staff) or Phase 1B (65+; 16+ with chronic medical conditions) should contact the provider from which they normally receive care, like a flu shot, to learn about their process. People in Phase 1B may not be able to receive the vaccine until additional supply is available in our community. People without health insurance or established primary care physicians can sign up for a vaccine by calling 512-972-5560.
New Business Restrictions: Since COVID-19 hospitalizations have made up more than 15% of total hospital capacity for seven days straight, the following new restrictions are in effect: businesses operating at 75% capacity must revert to 50% capacity; bars must stop offering on-site service; and hospitals must pause elective surgeries. For more information, contact the Office of Travis County Judge Andy Brown at (512) 854-9555.
Get Free Food: The Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) is hosting community-wide food distribution events next week. You can get free groceries for your household there until supplies run out. Try to arrive early, because they don’t have guaranteed groceries if food runs out before 12pm. • Thurs., 1/21, 9am–12pm @ Travis Co. Expo Center (7311 Decker Ln. in 78724); • Sat., 1/23, 9am–12pm @ Del Valle High School (5201 Ross Rd. in 78617).. Call the CTFB distribution programs hotline for schedule updates: (512) 684-2559.
If you have a question for KOOP about COVID-19, leave a message for us at 512-710-5353 or covid19@koop.org. We will respond to questions and share other community updates weekly on Reflections of Community Outreach or the In Touch Interviews show.
