US Health and Human Services (HHS) has launched the Disability Information and Access Line (DIAL), a national hotline to connect people with disabilities to information and services—like appointment scheduling and planning transportation—that will improve community access to COVID-19 vaccines. The DIAL line is open 8am–7pm Central time at 888-677-1199.

Starting August 19, Austin Public Health (APH) will offer a $50 H-E-B gift card to individuals who receive their first or second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at eligible APH vaccination locations, which are available without appointments. For gift card-eligible vaccination locations, call 512-974-2000.

HHS and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced on August 18, 2021 that starting September 20, vaccinated individuals should get COVID-19 booster shots starting eight months after an individual’s second dose. Check your vaccination cards, and reach out to your vaccination provider to learn how to schedule a booster shot.

The City of Austin’s St. John Community Center is distributing free PPE, food, and fans on Saturday, August 21 from 9am–1pm while supplies last. Get there early if you’re in need and able to. 7500 Blessing Avenue in 78752
