10/24: Get a flu shot: Austin Public Health (APH) is hosting a walk-up flu shot event on Saturday, Oct. 24, 8am–12pm at the Southeast Branch Library (5803 Nuckols Crossing Road). The event will distribute ~200 flu shots on a first-come, first-served basis with priority for uninsured people. If you have health insurance, visit VaccineFinder.org to find a location offering flu shots.

Sign up for emergency alerts: The City of Austin and the Travis County Office of Emergency Management have partnered to deploy an emergency preparedness mobile app called “Warn Central Texas,” which will share important information about pending emergencies in the area. 2021 Health Insurance: From Nov. 1–Dec. 15, people who don’t have health insurance through an employer may be eligible for subsidized health insurance through the public Marketplace. For questions about eligibility and to schedule a pre-enrollment appointment, call Foundation Communities’ Health Coverage program at 512-381-4520.
