New COVID–19 Hotline: Austin Public Health (APH) set up a hotline to provide resources and information for high-risk workers during the pandemic. Operated by Austin Voices for Education and Youth, the hotline provides information and referral services for front line staff who need assistance due to COVID–19. Hotline staff can be reached at 512-493-4288 from 8am–8pm Monday through Friday.
Safety During Holidays: As Halloween, Día de los Muertos, and winter family celebrations approach, APH officials remind central Texans that “it is important that we only gather in-person with our households and celebrate virtually or at a distance with those outside of our homes.” Stay safe and stay healthy this holiday season.
US Residents have until 5am on October 16 to fill out census forms, which will help the federal government allocate local funding for the next DECADE! If you haven’t filled out your census forms yet, you can get help at atxcensus2020.com or by calling 512-854-6185. If you’ve already filled out your census, reach out to your neighbors and see if they need help, too!
If you have a question for KOOP about COVID–19, leave a message for us at 512-710-5353 or email@example.com. We will respond to questions and share other community updates weekly on Reflections of Community Outreach or the In Touch Interviews show.
