
City PPE Distribution: The City of Austin is distributing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like facemasks, hand sanitizer, and educational materials at no cost to city residents twice more this week: Friday, September 18, 9–11am at the Ruiz Branch of the Austin Public Library (APL): 1600 Grove Blvd., Austin, TX 78741; and Saturday, September 19, 9–11am at the George Morales Dove Springs Recreation Center: 5801 Ainez Dr, Austin, TX 78744
Thurs., Sep. 17: Get Free Food: The Central Texas Food Bank is hosting a community-wide food distribution event on Thursday, September 17 from 8–11am at Nelson Field (7105 Berkman Dr Austin, TX 78752). You can get free groceries for your household there until supplies run out. Try to arrive early, because they don’t have guaranteed groceries if food runs out before 11am.
RISE Funding, Round 2: Applications for Relief in a State of Emergency (RISE) 2.0 funding opened this Monday and will close at 7pm on Mon., Sept. 21. $2,000 RISE grants are for individuals and families who have experienced a financial hardship related to COVID-19.
